Card and tile games, played at a proper table

freshIvories is a place to play the games people grew up playing at the kitchen table: dominoes, Spades and Texas Hold'em. Play one on one, sit down with a partner against another pair, or practice against the computer before you play people. Everything runs in the browser, on a phone or a computer, with nothing to install.

Dominoes

A double-six set has 28 tiles. Players match an end of a tile in their hand to an open end on the board. In Fives (All Fives), you score whenever the open ends add up to a multiple of five after your play: ends of 6 and 4 make 10, so you score 10. A double at an end counts both halves, and the first double, the spinner, opens all four directions once its sides are covered.

Draw has no scoring on fives: you win hands and count what your opponents still hold. Block is the same game with no boneyard, so if you cannot play, you pass. A hand that stalls is won by the side holding the fewest pips.

Spades

Spades are always trump. Each player bids how many tricks they expect to take and is scored against their own bid: make it and you score ten a trick, miss it and you lose ten a trick. Follow suit when you can, and you cannot lead a spade until spades have been broken, unless spades are all you hold. Play partnership with four seats, or cutthroat with three or four, where every seat plays for itself. A table can also add the two jokers as the highest trumps.

Poker

Texas Hold'em with play chips only. There is no money, no coins and no prizes involved: it is the game itself, two cards each and five on the board, for people who enjoy reading a table.
